It is obligatory (Farl) for every Muslim to pray five times a day. It is "Farl" for him to perform wudu in order to pray. Normally everyone does wulu with water. According to the Islamic view, there are three types of water. Every Muslim must understand this subject.
What are the three types of water in ISLAM?
According to Islam there are three types of water. One is Tahoor, the second is Tahir, and the third is Najis. Let us talk about each of the waters in detail.
What is Tahoor?
It is water that is pure in itself and capable of purifying another. Usually all the water we see is Tahur. For example well water, pond water, sea water etc. This water is self-purifying and has the ability to purify others. Usually the water we see in mosques and homes is Tahur water. If there is a certain amount of water, we can dip our hands in the water reservoirs of the mosques and purify our hands. Otherwise, we should wash our hands with water. Tahoor water is the water that we usually use for all types of purification.
What is Tahir?
It is water that is pure in itself but incapable of purifying anything else. Examples are porridge water, juice, rose water. Drinks like ordinary juice are self-purifying but have no ability to purify others, so we cannot purify ourselves with these waters. For example porridge water, juice, soft water etc. We can drink it as we like or use it for any other purpose. But it should not be used for cleaning.
Najis
Najis refers to water that is impure in itself and cannot purify another. For example, blood, stool, urine etc. This water should not be used for purification or otherwise.
The above are the three types of water. May Allah bless us to understand things correctly and organize our lives.. Ameen
